im looking at upgrading my computer. here is my computer specs. processor: AMD athlon II X2 240 processor 2.80 GHZ 4.00 GB of RAM 64 Bit OS NVIDEA Geforce GT 220 video card im not sure if you need to know anything else. but i have a couple of fans, one is a lit up fan. its an IBUYPOWER computer. i have a big enough case, theres lots of extra space. im just wondering if theres a couple of things i can buy to install myself or if its easier to just buy a new computer? ____________

Hey Dami!! Just curious, what are you wanting to upgrade in it? You can upgrade RAM, the hard drive, fans, graphics, sound, etc... you need to be more specific. Are you looking for more storage space, or are you trying to speed things up? There are so many things you can upgrade, but you do need to be careful. If you upgrade your graphics card for example, you may need to upgrade your power supply as well to handle it. I am going to school now for computers, but my passion is the hardware aspect of it, hence why I have more problems with the software lol. That is almost exactly like my computer, only difference is I have GTS 250 vid card, and I haven't had a problem playing any games yet. My next upgrades will be another 4 GB RAM and maybe 4 or 6 core CPU (not necessarily in that order) Smile

i want to upgrade my graphics and anything else that will make my graphics handle newer games coming out. plus anything else you think i should upgrade. what do you guys recommend? would it be cheaper to just buy a new comp? id like to keep it arond 6-700 ____________

forget AMD...Intel's new IVB has HD4000 awesome graphics built in...no need for external graphics card anymore for 3D gaming.

I do agree with Testo, I have AMD.... Basically what he is saying is that instead of buying a new CPU chip (processor) and a graphics card (video), this new chip has built in graphics right on the chip. Another words you would just buy 1 CPU chip (that has graphics built-in like an all-in-one) vs. buying a CPU chip and a graphics card. Make sense? And the IVB stands for Intel's Ivy Bridge in case you were curious. Oh and Ras, I hope you do go in that order, it would be really silly going from a 6 to a 4. ____________ The World Is A Ball Of String And I Am A Kat

lol I just meant the upgrading the RAM and the CPU, not necessarily in that order. The 4 or 6 core CPU comment was just meaning that I am not sure if I'll get a 4 or 6 core CPU for that upgrade Smile
